Art Relay TEAM BUILDING

Create Together Without Controlling the Result

Artworks are created by the entire team — but nobody controls the final result.

Each participant begins something and then passes the work to another person.

The next person must respond to what is already there, rather than starting again. Artist guides them providing the artistic assistance, give participants knowledge from the field of composition and design to help each participant reach visually pleasing results.

How it works

Everyone receives paper or canvas.

The first instruction might be:

“Create something that represents movement.” After five minutes pass your work to another person. Now everyone continues someone else's artwork.

The artist introduces new prompts:

“Connect two elements”, “Add something unexpected” “Change the scale of one element”, “Introduce a completely different color”, “Create a relationship between two separate things.”

The participants continually adapt.

The final stage: All artworks are placed together, the group looks for relationships between them.

Why it works

The participants experience something very simple:

I create something. Someone else changes it. I have to respond.

There is no possibility of controlling everything.

That naturally opens a conversation about:

• flexibility

• trust

• building on other people's ideas

• responding to change

• letting go of ownership

The finished paintings become a lasting visual memory of the team experience — creating a unique gallery for the company office.
